Border hours
The international border is open from 6:00 am to 8:00 PM daily. Plan your travel accordingly.
No personal checks
Personal checks are not accepted anywhere in Mexico. Bring cash (pesos or USD) or a debit/credit card.
Passport required
A valid US Passport or Passport Card is required to cross the US-Mexico border. Ensure yours is not expired.
Mexican insurance
Mexican auto insurance is available on the highway before crossing, or contact your own insurance company ahead of time.
